By fitting the IR illuminator between the front optical bell and the front mount of a day telescopic sight, there is less chance that some of the IR beam can be blocked or reflected by the scope - 100% of the IR light should be directed at the target since the illuminator is mounted directly above the front optic..

Will fit either a 30mm scope tube or, via the included insert, a 25mm scope tube.
